Presented in partnership with Fidelity Investments and Duval County Public Schools’ Parent Academy

Junior Achievement of North Florida is once again partnering with Fidelity Investments and Duval County Public Schools’ Parent Academy for the second annual Family, Finance, and Fun Day. This year, the event will be hosted virtually for free through Zoom on Saturday, Nov. 7 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Family, Finance, and Fun Day will include workshops on financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship designed for parents and students from 3rd grade to 12th grade.

“We have put together some fun workshops for both students and adults along with games the families can all enjoy together,” said Teresa Smith, vice president of programs for JA of North Florida. “Volunteers from Fidelity will be leading the sessions for adults. They will also be using JA youth program materials to teach the students. A special thank you to Fidelity Investments for their continued support of JA’s Family, Finance and Fun Day.”

Family, Finance and Fun day will start at 10 a.m. with opening ceremonies then participants will break into age-based groups. Each session will be 30 minutes and will take place from 10:15 a.m. until approximately 12:05 p.m. The courses will include topics on budgeting, saving and investing. After the sessions are complete, there will be closing ceremonies and a family game. Throughout the day, participants will have a chance to win prizes including gift cards, gift baskets and more.

Families can register now at janfl.org, just click on the JA Events page. Participants will register as a family and will be asked to list all attendees at the elementary, middle school, high school or adult level. All attendees will be assigned to a breakout session based on that information. Children in kindergarten to 2nd grade are welcome to join but an adult will need to be present to help explain concepts in further detail as the topics will be designed for the 3rd-grade level and above. The first 100 families who register and participate in the entire event will receive a digital gift card after completing a survey.

The event is free, but registration is required. Space is limited to 200 families. For more information, contact Amberly Archer at amberly@janfl.org or call (904) 398-9944 ext. 224.
