121 Financial (pronounced “One to One”), Jacksonville’s hometown credit union, is moving to drive-thru-only banking at all of its branch locations, effective Saturday, March 21st. During this time of social distancing, 121 Financial is also emphasizing that it is the only financial institution in Jacksonville leveraging a network of Live Teller Machines (LTMs), which allow users to conduct in-person banking transactions via a live video feed.
“We are excited to be able to showcase our network of Live Teller Machines during the Coronavirus outbreak,” says Paul Blackstone, Chief Operating Officer of 121 Financial Credit Union.
“While we have closed our branch lobbies for the health and safety of our employees and members, our LTMs allow members and the community to interact live with a teller in our live Contact Center. The machines literally walk you through the transaction and we encourage everyone to experience this easy, convenient technology. No other financial institution in Jacksonville offers this option.” Live Teller Machines are essentially ATMs with the ability, if desired, to video conference with a live teller and carry nearly all of the same transactions you would inside a physical credit union branch. All users need to do is tap on the screen to be connected with a remote teller to communicate in real time and perform common banking transactions. The Live Teller Machine allow users members to perform services beyond an ATM, including check cashing and loan payments.
