JAXUSA Partnership, the economic development partnership for the seven counties of Northeast Florida, has launched a redesigned version of its talent attraction website, FindYourJAX.com, the first phase of the organization’s talent attraction initiative.
The new website will educate potential talent on the benefits of living and working in the region, including career opportunities, relocation information and quality of life, as well as serve as a recruiting resource for local employers and recruitment professionals to help sell Jacksonville to prospective new hires.
Using strategic search engine optimization, Find Your JAX will reach more people outside of the market who may be interested in relocation to or a career in the region, providing them with information on the best opportunities available in Jacksonville and setting the region apart from its competitors. A study commissioned by JAXUSA in July 2019 of young professionals in key markets stated that less than half of the potential talent are “very familiar” or “somewhat familiar” with the region and more than half are not aware of what industries can be found here. The new campaign will give insight to those unfamiliar with the region, starting with the website.
“We’ve relaunched Find Your JAX at a pivotal time for the region,” said Aundra Wallace, president of JAXUSA Partnership. “This web portal is the first step to reach talent open to relocation and encourage them to learn more by showing them that our region has the career opportunities and advancement potential and desirable key factors, such as overall cost of living, housing availability and cost and quality health care, among others.”
JAXUSA is focusing on talent attraction to meet employer demands as a result of the region’s continued economic growth with a projected job growth of 10.3 percent, higher than U.S. projections of 8.5 percent. As talent attraction and development and global brand expansion are pillars of Elevate Northeast Florida, JAXUSA’s five-year strategic plan, the launch of the Find Your JAX website serves as one of the initiatives to meet the goal. JAXUSA made or is making personnel moves to assist in the plan’s talent development and attraction goals, including:
- The hiring of Anna Lebesch as Vice President, Talent Development in June 2019 to develop local and future talent through a collaborative effort with the region’s school districts, higher education institutions, workforce organizations and business leaders, and
- Plans to hire a Vice President, Elevate Women, a newly created position which will develop regional initiatives that advance the role of women in business and government.
This week, JAXUSA also launched its business recruitment marketing video to showcase our region for business development, job creation and investment. The video highlights the region’s five target industries, benefits of doing business, education and talent. These features, along with elements of the region’s water focus, are conveyed through an original spoken word poem by Jacksonville native, Roderick Borisade. While the video is intended for national and international C-Suite executives, business decision makers and site consultants, out-of-market talent and local residents alike will feel inspired by the video’s voiceover and imagery.
