HUNGER FIGHT on track to surpass 2019 in meals packed and volunteer participation

Published Monday, February 10, 2020

HUNGER FIGHT, Inc. announced today that the number of its meal packed to date are quickly approaching the total meals packed in all of 2019. In the first two months of 2020, over 1,250,000 meals have been packed in various packing events, compared to 1,606,956 packed in 2019. In addition, Hunger Fight has already surpassed 2019’s volunteer count, with 7,500 volunteers participating so far in 2020, compared to 6,705 in 2019.

“We are astonished at the pace of our growth in 2020,” said Sherri Porter, Founder and Executive Director of Hunger Fight. “None of this would be possible without the support of the many companies, foundations, businesses, faith organizations and volunteers who work side by side with us. Our inspiration to continue comes from the people we work with day in and day out to achieve our mission to feed hungry children and families in need. Without them, and the many hunger organizations we collaborate with, we would not be able to pack and distribute the number of meals needed to feed those at risk for hunger in our communities.”

HUNGER FIGHT is a Florida not–for-profit organization established in 2012. Its mission is to end hunger and illiteracy through the provision of nutritious meals and books to children, seniors and families by informing, engaging and mobilizing communities and partners.
