Donnie Horner, III Joins K9s For Warriors as Major Gifts Officer

Published Thursday, February 6, 2020

Donnie Horner, III, former Chief Operating Officer of Jacksonville’s Kids Hope Alliance, will soon join K9s For Warriors as its Major Gifts Officer. Horner is slated to begin the new role on February 24, 2020.

“I can’t wait to get started in my new role at K9s For Warriors. As a disabled veteran, I know that I can bring my experiences and expertise to help K9s For Warriors’ mission of saving veterans and rescuing dogs,” said Horner.

Horner earned his B.S. in Political Science from the U.S. Naval Academy in 2008 and earned his M.B.A. from Jacksonville University in 2011. He is a 2015 graduate of Leadership Jacksonville and was a candidate for the Florida House of Representatives (District 11) in 2016. As a community servant, Horner was appointed by Mayor Lenny Curry to serve on the Board of Trustees for Jacksonville's Public Library on September 13, 2018. Concurrently, he is Chairman of the River Club in Jacksonville and serves as President of the Naval Academy's Class of 2008.

“We are looking forward to Donnie joining our team. He has been an exemplary veteran and a leader to our city,” said K9s For Warriors Chief Executive Officer, Rory Diamond. “He is going to be a perfect fit and we look forward to the growth he will bring to our organization.”
