Published Tuesday, January 21, 2020

Leadership Jacksonville is accepting applicants for Next Generation, a unique summer program that seeks to encourage rising leaders to invest their lives and careers in Northeast Florida by fostering interest and participation in the city’s
current challenges. Next Generation is a program for undergraduate and graduate students, interns and young professionals who are 18-30 years old. Next Generation is in its 15th year and has impacted almost 500 individuals to have active
community involvement, be inspired to make a difference, gain greater understanding of community issues, as well as broaden perspective and understanding of Northeast Florida’s assets and potential.

Next Generation graduate responses:

• Since 2010, the average post program survey results reveal that graduates are “90% more likely to live in Jacksonville/Northeast Florida” because of their participation in the program.

• “It’s enlightening and educational. Exploring different facets of Jacksonville allowed me to better understand the community in which I serve,” shares Madi Bateman, Next Generation 2018 graduate.
• “Next Generation expanded my knowledge of all that Jacksonville has to offer. The program helped me to hone my interpersonal skills,” stated Aubrey Smith, Next Generation 2013 graduate.

“Leadership Jacksonville is committed to fostering community stewardship among the next generation of leaders who desire to live, work and play in Northeast Florida. Next Generation participants discover both our city’s potential and their own potential,” said Leadership Jacksonville Chief Executive Officer Jill Langford Dame.

The Leadership Jacksonville Next Generation Class of 2020 will begin on May 28 and end on August 1, 2020. The program consists of an Opening Reception, four weekdays and three Saturdays.
