Jacksonville Symphony Partners with Florida Blue for $150,000 Match Campaign

Published Tuesday, December 3, 2019

The Jacksonville Symphony announced their fall match campaign on Giving Tuesday, December 3.  The Symphony is thrilled to announce Florida Blue’s generous support with a $150,000 matching donation. All new and additional gifts to the Symphony made between November 1-December 31, 2019 will be matched dollar for dollar up to $150,000.

The Jacksonville Symphony is now in its 70th season of enriching the human spirit through symphonic music thanks to the generosity and support of the Northeast Florida community. During this decades-long history, families have shared their love of the Symphony by bringing their children and grandchildren to concerts. The Symphony’s music can take you anywhere, and this campaign will help take it into the community and be available for all.

Florida Blue has been an integral part of this history by supporting the Jacksonville Symphony for over 25 years. Florida Blue’s mission reaches beyond health insurance as it also helps people and communities achieve better health through education and a higher quality of life.

Gifts to the Jacksonville Symphony change lives by providing world-class symphonic music for everyone at concerts, outreach events and educational programs. Accounting for more than 65% of our $10 million annual budget, contributions will:

  • Create excellence, with 39 weeks of diverse, innovative and transformative programs that feature classical, rock, jazz, Broadway, movie, opera, ballet and chamber genres.
  • Ensure that 50,000+ students find inspiration and awaken creativity through carefully curated musical enrichment at Jacoby Symphony Hall and in the classroom.
  • Give 250,000 people access to inspiration by making ticket prices affordable, and by offering 321 opportunities to connect with the Symphony across the region.
  • Provide cultural leadership and attract national recognition at the caliber a vibrant and growing city commands, while making a $30 million annual impact.
