The Early Learning Coalition of Duval (ELC) is proud to announce a successful Day of Service in the Jacksonville community on Monday, October 14th. More than 80 ELC employees volunteered at the Sulzbacher Center, Clara White Mission, Jacksonville Humane Society, City Rescue Mission, Habijax for Humanity, Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra and Rethreaded to name but a few.
ELC’s Day of Service, nicknamed “Service Palooza”,began in 2018 as part of the annual United Way Campaign. “Staff had such a rewarding volunteer experience, it was decided to hold Service Palooza annually,” according to Denise Marzullo, CEO and President of ELC. “The benefits include team building, improved employee morale and repeat volunteerism throughout the year,” states Marzullo.
The Early Learning Coalition of Duval is a non-profit organization that serves as the one-stop resource for information about early learning services in Jacksonville. More than 7,000 children receive school readiness and VPK services in Duval County through ELC. ELC of Duval helps:
- families get their children into early learning care,
- provide child care financial assistance, and
- child care providers improve the quality of their early learning program.
