The SunTrust Foundation has awarded a $10,000 grant to Ability Housing, a Florida nonprofit that provides quality, affordable housing to families and persons experiencing or at risk of homelessness, as well as adults with a disability.
The grant will support Ability Housing’s efforts to help residents move from financial stress to financial confidence through affordable housing. Funds will support the Northeast Florida Villages Program, which consists of affordable multifamily rental apartment complexes providing 238 units of stable housing to low-income persons and families.
“Ability Housing’s work would not be possible without the support of donors like the SunTrust Foundation. We are so grateful for their generous support,” said Shannon Nazworth, President and CEO of Ability Housing. “These funds will support our efforts to increase the availability of affordable housing in Northeast Florida.”
“Helping people achieve financial confidence is a priority of the SunTrust Foundation,” said Brian Parks, SunTrust Bank Jacksonville market president, speaking on behalf of the SunTrust Foundation. “Supporting affordable housing will not only improve the quality of life for others who need it most, but also ensure a stronger, sustainable community.”
