Local celebrities give back to raise funds for Performing Arts School

CooperMorgan Dance Theatre is pleased to announce “ In the Key of Dance,”  a benefit concert to be held on Thursday, December 20, 2018, at downtown's Breezy Jazz Club. The one night-only holiday concert experience will be hosted by Damien Lamar , producer & radio presenter of the newly acclaimed radio show, Taste Test on WJCT 89.9 FM along with a jazz trio and an unforgettable, all-female line-up of jazz vocalists and performers. Enjoy a formal evening of dinner, a live concert, and drinks. The event’ s net proceeds will benefit The CM Experience: The New School, started by founders of CooperMorgan Dance Theatre.


The evening’ s festivities will feature performances from Mama Blue, the 2018 "Best Female Vocalist in Folio Weekly's Best of Jax" poll. The evening will showcase performances by local jazz musicians such as R&B newcomer Chrissy Love; Award-winning opera singer Kela, actress and vocalist Linzy Marie Lauren; one of Jacksonville ’ s up-and-coming singer-songwriters, MJbaker and powerhouse singers Paula Holmes, Jamese Mitchell, and Marquia Presley.


“In the Key of Dance”  benefit concert will include an eclectic mix of music from jazz to show tunes, from vocal to instrumental. “I am proud to bring some of the best talents in Jacksonville together to support the effort of the CooperMorgan Experience and the CM mentoring program. We have provided training, stability, food, and attire for young artists since 2008 out of our own

pocket. We are excited to engage the community and share some of the city's best musicians who will share this fabulous moment as we make every effort to continue our support for budding artists," says DeWitt Cooper, co-founder and artistic director of CooperMorgan Dance Theatre.


The event is on Thursday, December 20, 2018. Doors open at 6 PM, Show begins at 7 PM at Breezy Jazz Club, 119 W. Adams Street in downtown Jacksonville, Florida.


Tickets: Tickets cost $45 a piece and include dinner, show and a chance to participate in a silent auction. A cash bar will be available for drinks purchased during the performance. Limited advance tickets will be available starting Nov. 10 (beginning at 10 a.m. ) and will remain on sale until sold out. Tickets may be purchased online at
