Two Men And A Truck Seeks Partners for Movers for Moms Drive to Help Mothers in Shelters

Community-Supported Program Aids Moms in Crisis on Mother's Day

Published Tuesday, February 13, 2018

Though Mother’s Day is intended to be a joyous occasion for women across the country, thousands of moms will be overlooked on this special holiday because they are forced to live in shelters as a result of domestic abuse or homelessness.

To ensure moms in crisis receive the love and appreciation they deserve this Mother’s Day, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Jacksonville and St. Augustine are hosting its Movers for Moms® collection drive to provide critical gifts to local women staying in community shelters this spring.

First launched in 2007 by TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®, the Movers for Moms® program seeks to recognize moms in crisis on Mother’s Day by arranging delivery of gifts to women living in local shelters on the holiday weekend. In 2017, every TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® location across 39 states collected more than 285,000 items for women living in shelters on Mother’s Day. Once again, we are partnering with the Betty Griffin Center in St. Augustine and the Hubbard House in Jacksonville.

The Jacksonville Icemen will feature a Movers for Moms® charity fundraising night with the Icemen fans at the March 31st Game versus the South Carolina Stingrays.

To get involved in Movers for Moms® 2018, your team only needs to commit to receiving collection boxes and to promote the collection within your organization. That is it. TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® will handle all the other details, including the pick-up and delivery of donations.

Donations are being accepted from March 9th through May 6th; but again, the duration and level of involvement you deem appropriate is entirely up to you.

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® invites local businesses, schools, and organizations to join the Movers for Moms® program in helping make Mother’s Day 2018 a happier day for mothers in need across the region. If you have any questions, or if you’d like to register your organization for the Movers for Moms® program, please call 904-745-0705 or email at . For more information on Movers for Moms®, visit
