Who We AreOur Council is made up of business professionals from Jacksonville and surrounding areas that recognize the importance of downtown to the business health of Jacksonville as a whole. Members represent all aspects of business around Jacksonville providing an exceptional networking experience at our meetings, programs and social events. If you want to become active in Jacksonville, check out our council! What We DoThe Downtown Council isn’t just for networking. Look around Jacksonville and you’ll see the embodiment of ideas that started as dreams at a Downtown Council breakfast, became actions and turned into realities. City Hall at St. James Place, Art Walk and, most recently, the Downtown Living Tour can each trace their genesis to the Downtown Council and our unique members. Have you seen the paw prints on Bay Street, or the building with the gigantic jaguar on the side? Those are the Downtown Council's handywork as well! Our FocusTo enhance business in downtown Jacksonville by highlighting the amenities available in the downtown area. We have a beautiful river walk, cultural events, sporting events, restaurants, and a wealth of retail and office space available for a small mom and pop shop to a corporate headquarters. We work together to cultivate ideas and in the process, develop business owners and managers into business leaders, while they grew their businesses. Business is built on relationships, and Downtown Council members quickly learn that life-long relationships are made when business people unite in a common mission.
